Whitening Post-Op Instructions
Version 1.2·EN/ESFor the patient · keep this with you
Whitening lifts the natural shade of your teeth. The lift is gradual, and it sets over the 48 hours after the appointment. The notes below cover what to do, what to avoid, and how to keep the result.
01
The first 48 hours
- 01Avoid coffee, red wine, dark berries, beetroot, and any deeply pigmented food.
- 02Avoid smoking — it will stain the freshly whitened enamel within hours.
- 03Use the prescribed sensitivity toothpaste twice daily.
- 04Drink room-temperature water for the first two days.
02
Sensitivity
Cold sensitivity is common for 24 to 72 hours. It passes. Use the sensitivity toothpaste twice daily and avoid extreme temperatures during this window.
03
Maintaining the result
- 01Use the at-home maintenance trays once a week for the first three months, then once a month.
- 02Hygiene visit every six months.
- 03Limit espresso to one or two cups a day, taken with water alongside.
- 04Rinse the mouth with water after wine or coffee when you cannot brush.
04
When to call
- 01Sharp pain on biting after the appointment.
- 02Sensitivity that escalates beyond day three.
- 03Any visible white spot or streak that appears after the result has set.
